Widows with Kiddos Sponsors

Trauma is often thought of as a one-time major event.
For young widows with children, the Trauma of losing their spouse is often followed by a series of (small t) traumas.
These traumas impact adjustment to life without their spouse and the grieving process in general.
Research shows that one of the most significant factors affecting widows is financial trauma.
Many widows are left financially devastated by their spouse's death.
Going from a two income family to being the sole breadwinner at a time when needs are greater is difficult and stressful.
Young widows often are left dealing with the financial demands of increased childcare, the need for therapy, changes in health insurance, loss of transportation, and many other demands.
This stress can interfere with the ability to grieve as the anxiety of earning enough for a sustainable lifestyle takes over the emotional space.
This is why donating to Magnolia Harbor is so important, especially for this group of folks. If they can attend a retreat for widow/ers and their kids and not have to worry about the cost it would mean the world.

One of the organization goals of Magnolia Harbor is for the Widows and Kiddos retreat specifically to be completely covered by sponsors, because of the unique financial circumstances so many young widow/ers find themselves in after their partner’s death.
