When I heard about Magnolia Harbor Carefarm as an option for my Master's internship, I knew I wanted to be part of their community. Their mission is to be a sanctuary for all beings. They provide therapeutic services to people who have experienced trauma and traumatic grief, and they are also a sanctuary for animals that have experienced abuse, neglect, and abandonment. As someone who has experienced traumatic grief and knows people who have lost a loved one unexpectedly, I know that making sense of that loss is difficult. It can also be isolating because people who have not experienced a traumatic loss sometimes do not know how to support grieving people. Animals, however, will sit with you and comfort you for as long as you need them. Animals that have experienced abuse and neglect also benefit from the presence of safe humans. The human-animal connection is a valuable aid in the healing process.
The money raised for this fundraiser will go towards caring for the animals and expanding therapeutic spaces and programming. Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for Magnolia Harbor Carefarm.
